Werk From Home: Zoom Outfits 3.5.21

The weeks are going by so slowly now that we are completing our one year of staying at home.  I have my favorite sweatpants now, I tend to want to wear the most comfortable thing which is not always the most flattering or professional, and trying to make myself look different every day for these posts has slightly helped with my overall lewk and demeanor.  Now that I'm obsessed with drag race, I'm starting to get into makeup for the first time in my life, and that's added a new layer to my WFH lewks. Enjoy!

MONDAY.

Top: Tory Burch | Earrings: Nordstrom Rack (similar)

Mondays suffer if I don't plan out my outfits ahead of time, which is almost every Monday, unless I have a zoom meeting scheduled that day.  Today I only had phone calls, so I resorted to comfort as usual. I will say, with how much Drag Race I'm watching now, I'm hoping my makeup skills start to noticeably improve. I'm loving the NYX soft matte lip creams and I just bought two more over the weekend.  This being one of them, and a perfect zoom pop of color.  The soft matte lip creams are perfect for wearing under masks, they actually don't budge!

TUESDAY.

Dress: Kenzo | Earrings: Alison Lou Jelly Hoops

Oh this dress is just not working for me at all. I bought this dress blind as to size but brand new on Poshmark, and it's just waaaaay too big. I'm giving serious Chessy vibes in this denim, but it's actually a shirt dress with a tie waist, and not just an oversized painter's shirt.  I thought it would be a good work dress because it's almost to my knees and has a collar, but the size is just not professional looking and it really makes me look like I don't know how to buy clothes for myself.  This is going straight back onto Poshmark!

WEDNESDAY.

amazon puffy navy headband, j crew navy shirt
Peplum Blouse: J. Crew | Headband: Amazon

Omg I was feeeeeling my makeup today!  I put the flat hair clips on like the celebrities do when they are getting glam, and I feel like the result really was a serve.  I tried to go for a purple look, picking purple shadows from multiple palettes, but I think the result still basically looks brown.  I think that's fine, especially for work. Anyway, I was feeling myself so much today that I wanted to go outside and do a photoshoot, but then I never did.  One day I will start doing this at lunch. One day!

THURSDAY.

Button Up Shirt: Ralph Lauren | Earrings: J. Crew Factory (similar)
Eyeshadow: Trixie Cosmetics Daytime Realness Palette

Oh boy she's a blue baby today. I got the Trixie Cosmetics Daytime Realness palette and I just needed to do a look! I didn't have any client calls and I figured no one would really notice. It's not too dramatic, at least not the way that I applied it, and it's just a little pop of color. I'm loving it! I always wanted to wear blue eyeshadow in the 90s and early 2000s and my mom never let me wear makeup. I'm finally getting my day and now I won't let anyone stop me!

FRIDAY.

Mesh Turtleneck: AFRM via Nordstrom | Earrings: Nordstrom Rack (similar)

Okay this look received very mixed reviews. I originally wore it because I had decided the "Category Is" for tonight's Drag race viewing would be "Flower Power."  That ended up changing, but I wanted to just rock the look anyway since I just got this mesh turtleneck. It was maybe not the most appropriate for work, but it still looked chic under a blazer for a client meeting later in the day.  These earrings, my dupe of the Rebecca de Ravenel earrings, BROKE shortly after this. The glue failed and a little spiral popped out of one of the flowers. I guess that's what I get for $4 earrings, but they served me well for these Zoom screenshots. I don't think I ever actually got the chance to wear them outside! I have enough white floral earrings though so it's not too big of a loss.

I'll be trying to base my outfits around my other, non-white earrings next week. Until then!

Best,

Isabella
