Werk From Home: Zoom Outfits 2.19.21

I decided that this week's theme would be a play on my usual work uniform- a white button up with accessories.  I have a lot of statement earrings and hair accessories to work with, so I thought that keeping the palette of my blouse the same would allow for those little items to really make a statement.

MONDAY.

President's day baby, which means NO WORK! I allowed myself to really take the day off work for the most part, until I got some aggressively critical emails from a partner after dinner and proceeded to sit at my computer for the rest of the night. Happy weekends always for lawyers!

TUESDAY.

Shirt: Brooks Brothers | Earrings: Nordstrom Rack | Blue Light Glasses: The Book Club

Day One of the white-shirt lewks this week.  I have 6 of these Brooks Brothers white button up shirts because I decided soon after law school that this would be my work uniform.  These babies have been through a lot with me, and spritzes of bleach have revived them time and time again.  These pearlescent flower earrings I got on clearance from Nordstrom Rack for about $4, but they give serious Rebecca de Ravenel vibes, so I got them. I love a white floral earring moment to pop against my dark hair!

WEDNESDAY.

Shirt: Ralph Lauren | Earrings: J. Crew Factory (similar)

Another day, another white shirt.  No meetings again today, but I had to put some earrings on for myself! I love these pearl hoop earrings.  They look just like the Lele Sadoughi ones that are around $100, but these were around $10 from J. Crew factory.  I am an amazing deal finder when it comes to earrings! And surprise, surprise, these are another white pair to pop against my dark hair.  Hopefully tomorrow I feel like adding some color in to these looks?

THURSDAY.

Headband: Lele Sadoughi | Shirt: Uniqlo

Dressing up with these posts in mind has really helped when partners and clients continuously schedule last-minute zoom meetings on the same day.  Luckily, I've been ready and looking put-together because I'm keeping myself accountable to this blog and the 5 people that read it.  So thank you! I'm shocked at how different all of the white button-up looks are from each other when they are really based on the same thing.  Still not bringing much color in, but when I looked in my headband box, I just felt compelled to put this leopard one on because it hasn't gotten a lot of love lately.

FRIDAY.

Dickey: Amazon | Sweater: Kenzo (similar)

Okay, this is maybe cheating a little bit, but I just got these white collar dickeys in from Amazon and I was dying to wear it! I love the look of layering white button ups under sweaters, but it sometimes feels very restrictive and uncomfortable.  Enter the dickey: it's essentially a fake collar that looks real and you can layer under any sweater or top or dress that you want. It still gives the look of wearing a white button up but frees up your arms to only the constrictions of your sweater, instead of the sweater and a button up.  Highly recommend.  I feel like the dickey actually looks neater and crisper than my own button up shirts would.  The one I bought came in a pack of two, one with a pointy collar (wearing) and a Peter Pan rounded collar. I'll still have to figure out how to style that one, but I'm excited to do so! Until then. Next week is a new week.

Best,

Isabella
